Come hear the Story on Good Friday + Easter.
We invite you to come and experience the Story of the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ this Easter season in a powerful and vibrant way.
On Friday, March 30, we will have two Good Friday Tenebrae services at 6pm + 8pm. On Easter Sunday, April 1, we will have two services at 8:30am + 11:15am.
Tenebrae: The Service of Shadows
March 30 | 6pm + 8pm
Tenebrae is Latin for 'shadows' and is a specific service dating back to the fifth century that focuses on the events leading up to the death of Jesus on the cross. The purpose of Tenebrae is to vividly portray the betrayal, abandonment, and agony of Jesus's final hours through seven dramatic readings of Scripture. After each reading we gradually descend into complete darkness as we follow Jesus into the tomb.
Lumen Christi: The Service of Light
April 1 | 8:30am + 11:15am
On Sunday we will return in the same way we left – we will enter into the darkness of the tomb as we begin our worship service. The good news of the resurrection is portrayed through light flooding back into the sanctuary as we ponder the death of Death in the raising of Christ our Lord.
