In 2011, we were invited to the streets of the Kalighat red-light district and the mud path slums surrounding the city. It’s a world completely different than our own, but one that God loves and one he has called us to love with him.

GRACE > DISGRACE
In the Kalighat red-light district women trapped in the sex trade who have been robbed of dignity since their youth. Through the Kalighat Bible Clubs, the women are able to form friendships in a safe environment and learn about Jesus.
CHILDREN
LOVING THE LEAST OF THESE
Smriti began a preschool for the children of the Kalighat that eventually spread into four locations in the surrounding slums. The children are taught about Jesus and how to read and write using the Bible.

Mudpath Ministries seeks to rescue girls from the cycle of poverty and the sex trade by pulling them out of the Kalighat and placing them in boarding school before they can enter the system.
